A Memorandum of Understanding between Mashreq University and the UNESCO Avicenna Virtual Campus with the aim of establishing a specialized center for e-learning in SUDAN

Dr. Omar Hajj Ali Hajj Al-Hassan, President of Mashreq University, signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the UNESCO Avicenna Virtual Campus Network, based in Paris, to establish an e-learning center at the university. This center aims to provide education services to Mashreq University students and to the Sudanese community in general with a high quality and professionalism that comply well with the international standards in this field. This will be achieved by implementing the Avicenna model of education that is approved by the UNESCO. The center also aims, on the long term to provide E-learning services for students of schools and universities in remote areas and conflict zones. It is worth noting that the Avicenna Virtual Campus Network program was established by the UNESCO in 2002, and it is a program that includes a number of universities around the world. Mashreq University is the first university in Sudan that participates in this program
